Fact is that the past was analog and belonged to the pencilcases. The future is digital and belongs to the computers.
We live in a world where technology is omnipresent and will only continue to become more crucial. Over the past few decades, in particular, advances in technology have changed the look of
many of the things that we do. Interestingly, the increasing reliance on technology has seen many devices, originally used only by individuals with disabilities, become mainstream, such as ergonomically designed pens and gardening tools, grab bars and electric toothbrushes. These devices have come into everyday use as individuals have recognized their benefits.
I think the new possibilities are really important to consider. There are many sources available online, that can help the students developing and improving their skills. It altso offers the teacher many new ways of teaching their students. My own teacher in math, is using a program where he records movies on his computer, which he transmits to the students on Facebook, and we see the films as homework. It seems like the benefits of having computers in class are infinite, but I must say that I do understand the frustrated teachers. Hour after hour they are struggling with students, that anytime can be in a different world, because of their computers where they one click away have acces to all the social networks. The level of concentration in the class is perhaps lower than it was years back.
In the kindergarten my mom works in, they have got about 20 iPads which the children may use a limited extent, of course. It shows how early children today are being introduced to the technical stuff. An amazing aspect of this is that the children learn to work together, they sit in a cirkel around an iPad and help each other through the games. They get inspiration to new games, where they after the ”ipad hour” will try the new ideas of which they have gained through the iPad.
As a conclusion I will say that computers in the classrooms are very important and I do not think it interferes with the students learning process. In case, it will be the students own choice, to fall behind the others. I also think it is obvious for everyone, that the tecnical progress in our world only goes one way, so why fight it when you can make the best of it?
