To the person who finds this bottle: I’m so glad that you have found my message.
My name is Samantha Landon and I’m sixteen years old. I normally live in the USA with my mom and my two half-brothers, but right now I’m far away from home. About three months ago, I was kidnapped. It was a really nice evening, when I saw this man on my way home from one of my friends. He kept following me, and I was so scared. I was just about to call my mom, but then he touched my shoulder with a really hard grip. I was just trying to get out of his hands and telling him to let me get away, but then he took a knife out of his pocket. I was shaking over my whole body, and tried not to look in his eyes. In the same second, a car stopped beside us. It was a big, black delivery van; it’s the only thing I remember about it. He told me, with a very deep voice, to get in the car. At that time I didn’t have any choices. I was so afraid, that he was going to kill me, if I said no.
We drove for days and it was getting hotter and hotter. I think, we were on a ferry once. Finally, after being on the roads for about a week, we arrived. I was so afraid, and kept telling myself, it was just another really bad nightmare. Even though I knew, it wasn’t.
This man kept me in a little room, but it was quite comfortable. You hear a lot of stories about kidnapped kids, who’re kept in a cold basement. But it wasn’t like that for me. I was getting food too, but mostly fruit and vegetables.
One day I managed to escape, while he was sleeping. I ran for a very long time until I found this seashore, where I am now. There’s a harbor not long from here. I’m the only one here. I tried to talk to some of the people on the harbour, but no one speaks English. All I got out of them was that I’m in Greece.
Here is what I want you to do: Call the police and make then contact my mom. I wrote my address in the top of the letter. My mom’s name is Allison Landon. Tell them I had suspicion, that it might be my father, who’s the man behind all this. Make them run an investigation over here, and make them call the Greek police. Tell them I’m near the coast, and that I’ll stay near the seashore and harbour. All I want now is to get home. Help me. Please.
